History of Paris
Musée Carnavalet
The Musée Carnavalet is the city museum of Paris and presents the history of the city from its origins to the present day. It is located in the Marais district, within the Hôtel Carnavalet and the Hôtel Le Peletier de Saint-Fargeau, which are connected on the first floor.
The collections cover a wide range of themes, including memorabilia from the French Revolution, historical paintings and sculptures, furniture and decorative arts from the 17th and 18th centuries, and much more.
With around one hundred rooms, including 34 period rooms, the museum is certainly not small! It is home to more than 625,000 works of art, like pieces of furniture, documents, and many other fascinating objects.

Note:
We've only seen one exhibition so far, so we can't give a comprehensive review of the museum. However, the exhibition "Philippe Starck. Paris est pataphysique" was excellent and highly recommended (until August 27, 2023).
