H'Art Museum Amsterdam
H'Art Museum Amsterdam
former Hermitage Amsterdam
now H'Art Museum
The H’Art Museum (former Hermitage Amsterdam) in Amsterdam regularly hosts exhibitions. The museum in Amsterdam was an offshoot of the museum of the same name in Saint Petersburg, but was renamed to separate it from Russia – because of the war in Ukraine.
Fears about where the works for future exhibitions will come from (the H’Art Museum does not have its own collection) are unfounded: As luck would have it, they are entering into a 5-year contract with the Centre Pompidou Paris, which will be closed for renovation work from 2025 to 2030. But loans from the Amsterdam museums, the British Museum in London and the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington D.C. will also be on display from then on.
The first major exhibition to be held under the new name will show works by the Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky from the Centre Pompidou (mid-2024). The message is to break with the government and not with the people.
My rating:
The positives:
Top exhibitions are regularly held here. The exhibition "Portrait Gallery of the 17th Century" will be extended indefinitely!
The negatives:
If you want to see all current exhibitions, the ticket is very expensive at EUR 27.
TOP TIP:
The online tickets for the individual exhibitions are cheaper here than on site!
