The city of love is also an art capital with plenty of major museums to its name. The most famous by far are the Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay and the Pompidou Centre. But there are so many more to explore!
Here’s my very own top ten to get you started...
THE LOUVRE
The most important museums – and that is clear – is the Louvre!
Here you’ll find art, art and more art… Antiquities, Egyptian art, Northern European paintings, Southern masterpieces and the biggest names in the art world. Not to mention the most famous painting on the planet – the Mona Lisa.
What else can we say? Ah yes, there is one thing missing, and that’s modern and contemporary art. But you’ll find plenty of that spread out across the other museums and galleries in the city.
POMPIDOU CENTRE
The Museum will be closed from September 2025 on for 5 years. So, that makes it number 10 for the moment...
