A special souvenir photo
Museumsfoto Amsterdam
Rembrandt van Rijn, Jan Vermeer, Anthois van Dyck – unfortunately, we all missed the chance to be portrayed by them. The great Dutch masters of the 17th century are no longer with us.
So, it is all the more gratifying that it is possible to go on a journey back in time in Amsterdam. In a small studio, in the shadow of the small alleys behind the Royal Palace and the Nieuwe Kerk, it is possible!
And Boris and I, we already did this special Photo shooting!

AN UNUSUAL
PHOTOSHOOTING
In the shadow of the Nieuwe Kerk, in a small, intimate studio, Hans Peter will photograph you in detailed, handmade costumes in the style of the famous paintings. Whether you prefer to experience this alone, in pairs or as a group is up to you.
The only question is: who do I want to be?
The milkmaid? The girl with the pearl earrings? Rembrandt or do I opt for the portrait “The Merry Drunkard” because that suits my nature best?
Finally, I decided on the “Prince of Orange”. Being a boss for once.
With a few flicks of the wrist, Boris, 39, online journalist, became William 1, rebel against the Spanish crown!
The somewhat distant expression on his face came about all by itself.
Hans Peter is an open, warm person. I immediately felt welcome. His unusual curriculum vitae, his communicative, humorous and uncomplicated manner made the visit a highlight, and not just because of the photo.
You can get your very personal ‘painting’ in different versions. Printed on high-quality photo paper, on a canvas, or for those who want to use a few filters at home, as a JPEG file. (However, the prices then vary.)
Whether as a souvenir, an unusual gift, a family portrait with a difference or simply as an experience with friends, a visit to Hans Peter at Museumfoto Amsterdam is worthwhile.
Second visit
The Milkmaid
When I was in Amsterdam for the Vermeer exhibition in 2023, I really wanted a photo taken by Peter! And what could be more natural than to be photographed as a milkmaid? Fitting for the visit!
Peter was really an open and interesting person! Boris didn’t promise too much 😉 And everything went so quickly and professionally, even if the small shop doesn’t look like it.
Peter helped me into the milkmaid’s outfit, 3, 4 snaps and the result was in the can! A professional!
We had a good chat while we were choosing the picture.
My advice: don’t miss Peter, his costumes and this great souvenir photo!
