THEATER-MUSEUM DALI IN FIGUERES
You may be in for a long wait in the queue, but it will be worth it.
If I’m being honest, I wasn’t a big fan of Dalí before I visited this museum. But there’s so much more on offer here than just melting clocks.
In Figueres, you have the chance to see another side to Dalí. Some of the works of art on display here are indeed a bit ‘melty’, I have to say. Luckily, they only make up a small fraction of the collection because I was really impressed by the other paintings on display. I discovered a ‘dark’, humorous and playful side to Dalí. Plus, the building has been beautifully renovated and it is absolutely huge!
Despite the museum’s size, almost all of the rooms were packed. If you’d rather not be crammed inside with a crowd of people, you might be best off staying outside.
My verdict? Visit the museum even if you don’t rate Dalí that highly – you’ll be pleasantly surprised. And all you Dalí fans out there are sure to be in your element anyway.

Important info: You have to book tickets in advance if you want to look around the house…
Your booking will include a guided tour. The inside of the house reflects Dalí’s style to perfection. It even has rooms with tailored acoustics and a special construction for his painting studio. Absolutely fascinating!
Unfortunately, I’m not allowed to upload any images to the site. You can take photos whilst you’re there but you can’t share them in the public domain.
There is one timeslot every day reserved for people who didn’t realise that you have to book a ticket in advance.
But I have to say that it’s worth visiting this attraction just to look at the outside of the house, the front courtyard and the little bay.

Castel of GALA
IN PUBOL
I’ve never had the opportunity to go to Púbol myself, but I wanted to include it in my Dalí round-up anyway.
It’s a medieval castle that Dalí converted into a mausoleum for his wife Gala. If you’re looking for the wow factor, you won’t be disappointed. The house and garden are romantic and a little mysterious. The museum has been open here since 1996.
