BEST ART MUSEUM
in Barcelona

Oh, art. Barcelona has a lot of it. What’s special about Barcelona’s museums when compared to other cities and museums, however, is that the local museums tend to focus on Spanish, or even Catalan art. You won’t find a “Prado” or a “Louvre” type of museum here, encompassing all of Europe’s art throughout the ages.
Barcelona’s museums either focus on an artist, such as Tápies, Mirò, or Picasso – Spanish artists or artists who lived in Barcelona – or, as an alternative, they show Spanish art from a certain age, much like the MNAC, MEAM, or the Museum of Modernisme.

If you think that this national kind of focus makes for a boring visit, think again – a closer look at Catalan art can be absolutely fascinating! So go ahead and give it a try.
