Barcelona
You want to have an unforgettable time in the city, but the museums just aren’t enough? That’s a bit hard to believe, but all right: How about a walking tour of Barcelona?
I work with two providers, Tiqets and GetYourGuide. They have a variety of walking tours available.
Tiqets
This platform is best known for its ticket deals. With this provider, you can purchase tickets ahead of time online and skip the waiting lines at the museums. Tiqets also offers walking tours of the city, bicycle tours, or other kinds of outings.
GetYourGuide
This platform specializes in all sorts of guided tours. And of course, Barcelona is on their list, too. Apart from guided bicycle tours, you can also take a walking tour of Barcelona

The tour:
Experience the top attraction in Barcelona – the Sagrada Família. With more than two million visitors a year, the Sagrada Família is the most famous of Antonio Gaudí’s buildings. This tour is very informative and one of the most-booked guided tours at Barcelona-Museum!
The guide will start off in front of the church and tell you about the cathedral’s inception and construction in general as well as about Gaudí himself. Then you enter the Sagrada Família through the group entrance, which is faster than entering through the regular one. The guide will then switch to a headset – this will let you enjoy the inside a bit better, and it also makes the entire tour much more relaxed. Afterwards, you can stay inside until the Church closes, if you like. Visit the museum in the basement, or climb the towers for an amazing view of Barcelona.
2. Tour of Barcelona: Gaudí buildings and modernism
Prices:
EUR 14 for adults
EUR 10 for students with ID
Duration: 2 hours
Language: available in English
(daily, 2.30 p.m.)
Included in the price: Tour guide
The tour:
This is an entertaining tour about modernism in Barcelona. For the Catalan Renaissance, the modernist style led to a kind of cultural re-birth (which is fitting when you consider the meaning of the word “renaissance”). Gaudí and his colleagues were a part of this zeitgeist and mixed traditional crafting with modern technology. The guide will lead you up from the old city to the Eixample district, where you will learn a lot about the modernist buildings that can be found there. Among them, there are such famous Gaudí buildings as the Casa Batlló, the Pedrera, and, of course, the Sagrada Família! But also modernist buildings by other architects of this time: like Palau de la Musica or Casa Amatller!
(Please note that all buildings will be examined from the outside.)
3. Tour of the Park Güell
Prices:
EUR 26 for people over the age of 11
EUR 23.40 for children age 3 and 11 years
free of charge for children under the age of 3
Duration: 1.5 hours, but you can stay as long as you like afterwards
Language: available in English Spanish
Included in the price: Tour guide and admission fee
The tour:
Another attraction is this beautiful Gaudí park in Barcelona. The Park Güell is located above the Gracia district, and it gives you an amazing view of Barcelona. It was designed in the 1900s and is an architectural marvel full of fountains and benches made of colorful mosaics. It is also well known for the brightly colored dragon in the entrance area.
During the tour, you will find out what makes the park so special and get to know Gaudí and his history. Enjoy the view and let the many musicians who frequent the park be the soundtrack to your visit.

Even if the guide wasn’t easy to find at first (the Plaça Catalunya is always full of people), this tour gives you a great look at the history of Barcelona. The “Barrio Gótico” is the most visited district of Barcelona. Here you can see and feel the history, discover quaint little bars, or go shopping!
During the 2-hour tour, it Roman, medieval and modern roots are thoroughly explained, all while exploring the Gótico.
