La Grande Arche
The Grande Arche, an office building with a spectacular terrace and a unique view over Paris, is located in a district of Paris called La Défense.
The Defense is a high-rise district and the largest office district in Europe. The pedestrian zone is right on Ax historique between Tuilierien and Grande Arche.
My Rating:
The positives:
Modern architecture, the largest roof terrace in Paris with a view of the city and suburbs, changing exhibitions, an open-air sculpture museum, shopping... What more could you want?
The negatives:
Anyone who comes primarily for the view of the city center and its famous buildings such as the Arc de Triomphe or the Eiffel Tower will certainly be disappointed. There are better places in Paris. Therefore a point deduction.
Tip:
Be careful when you arrive: if you take metro line 1, you can use a normal t+ ticket. But if you come with the RER A, this ticket is not valid! Because La Defense is outside the main city!
