Musée Jacquemart-André
Opulent rooms and rococo art
Musée Jacquemart-André
The museum is closed until 1 September 2024 for restoration work.
Built in 1869, the town house was the home of married couple Edouard André and Nélie-Jacquemart. The two art collectors created a refuge here, which they furnished with (around 3,000!) valuable furnishings, paintings and sculptures.
Opening hours:
Daily, 10.00 a.m. – 6.00 p.m
My rating:
The positives:
A Haussmann-style building with lots of opulent furniture and art inside. If you like opulence and don't want to drive all the way to Versailles, you'll love this museum!
The negatives:
Does too much frosting and icing make you sick? Then this is not for you. ;)
Tip:
Don't miss the ceiling fresco by Giambattista Tiepolo! It is located in the museum's tearoom. Where, by the way, you can also get pastries from the best Parisian pastry chefs!
