GET OUT OF THE CITY, INTO NATURE!
If you spend a little more time in Barcelona, you can also think about a day trip. Because Catalonia is so, so beautiful and has so many wonderful places and nature sights to offer – you shouldn’t miss this!
Here are a few “organized” options. In other words, you get on the bus in the morning and get off again in the evening.
If you want to rent a car and have a few places as tips from me, you will find that at the end of this page!

MONASTERY & MOUNTAIN
MONTSERRAT
Would you like to get to know the surroundings of Barcelona? Then the nearby mountain Montserrat offers itself with its unusual rock structure! Combine adventure, culture and nature here!
Because you can take a cable car up to the monastery of the mountain, meet the important patron saint “the black Maria” ( Mare de Déu de Montserrat / La Moreneta), enjoy the view and take the cog railway even further up and go hiking! A great mix!
And if you want even more adventure: there are even hot-air balloon rides nearby!
There are also different tickets for the diversity of the mountain:
Take a look at those options!

GIRONA, FIGUERES
AND DALí
Salvador Dalí is a son of Catalonia – he was born and he died in Figueres. There, you can visit his famous Theater Museum. And his house in Portlligat is also open for visits. This very small village is close to the picturesque town of Cadaques. He was made Marqués de Dalí de Púbol in 1982 and thus a nobleman. That’s why he has a Castell in Púbol, which he dedicated to his wife, Gala. It is also open to visits.
Different day tours can take place around Dali! These generally take longer, as Figueres or Portlligat are about 2 hours away from Barcelona. Find out more about the options.
You can visit all 3 of these locations with the Dali-Pass!
EUR 56 for adults from 15 to 64 years
EUR 46 for senior citizens over the age of 65
EUR 45 for children in the age of 9–16
free for children under the age of 9
WINE AND CAVA
IN THE PENEDES
About an hour south of Barcelona you will find the wine and cava growing region of Penedès. The hilly landscape invites you to cultivate wine and cava! And the traditionally run wineries can be visited as part of a guided tour. The wine tasting, which is also important for us, is included in almost every offer!
Centrally located Vilafranca del Penedès is also a cute little place to explore once.
A special trip to get to know the country, the people and the good wine or cava 😉

One tour can drive you north & inland from Barcelona and encounter such towns as Besalú, Vic, Santa Pau and Castellfollit de la Roca. At the top of the north are Girona, Cadaques, Pals or Begur. Or head south and visit Tarragona or Sitges.
