OUR TOP 6
ROOFTOP BARS BARCELONA
We’ve visited a rooftop bar for you from time to time over the last few months. We have to say, it’s been hard work… Phew 😀
No, of course, it was a very enjoyable test round! We decided on these 5 rooftop bars (7 were tested) and we added another terrace, which is not a rooftop bar in the sense, but is elevated and offers a great view.
We hope that this will give you another view of Barcelona!
Salute and Cin Cin!
WHAT YOU ABSOLUTELY
SHOULD KNOW
- Most rooftop bars are located on hotel terraces. And usually on very exclusive ones...
- As a result, the prices here are always more expensive than in normal bars. But then you also have a great view that you can enjoy while drinking/eating. However, we recommend only having a drink here. Why? Because...
- The Google reviews here are not always top, and we haven't tested the food either. The reviews could be bad because the prices are higher or people have been turned away.
- Think about sun protection! The roof terraces sometimes don't offer much shade!
- I would recommend making a reservation in summer. And for some bars, you MUST make a reservation!
- Access to the terraces is free in Barcelona. In Madrid, you usually have to pay EUR 5 just to go up! Crazy, isn't it?

Tips
The Hotel Colon is located in the centre of the Gothic quarter, directly opposite the cathedral. Its roof terrace is very popular, as you have a wonderful view of the ‘Catedral de la Santa Creu i Santa Eulàlia’, which has a long history of construction. You can also go up to the roof of the cathedral, but you can’t have an aperitif there ;).
The bar on top of the hotel is called L’Atic – The Attic. Here you can get a table on two levels – even without a reservation.
Jacqueline and I were lucky and sat right on the balustrade – so we could enjoy our cava with olives with the best view!

Google review: only from the hotel

VIEW OF THE CATHEDRAL IN THE GOTICO
L'ATIC IN THE HOTEL COLON
The W Hotel is probably the most famous hotel in Barcelona. Is it also the most expensive? Well, I don’t know. But the new Skybar and NOXE restaurant (Japanese fine dining), which opened in May 2023, is definitely very popular at the moment. If you want to go: make a reservation in good time and dress accordingly. You can also be turned away…
We ended my husband’s birthday up there with a drink. A cocktail and a white wine. We were still quite ‘early’ (11 pm), so the bar/disco was still empty… The bar is open until 3 am at weekends!
One downside: you can’t go out – it’s all indoors. Nevertheless, it was a great experience to see Barcelona from this angle!
Address: W Barcelona, Plaça de la Rosa dels Vents, 1, Ciutat Vella, 08039 Barcelona

SKYBAR IN THE W HOTEL
I’ve been to this terrace twice now. Once for personal pleasure – it was the first night away from home without babies – but unfortunately the weather wasn’t great that evening. And once as part of a photo shoot! It was a fantastic location!
The wine, the beer, the coffee – all a little pricier, but still totally within reason: because you don’t get a backdrop like this everywhere! This is truly the best rooftop terrace to look out over the Sagrada Família!
That’s why you have to book in advance, with a small deposit as security, which is non-refundable if you don’t turn up. (But this has only recently been introduced…). In addition, the booking calendar only opens one week in advance – so you really have to check it regularly and in good time. Here is the link to the booking.

(BEST) VIEW OF THE SAGRADA FAMILIA
SERCOTEL ROSELLÓN
After a very intense day at the museum, I treated myself to an Aperol Spritz – without a reservation! It was April, so I got a seat straight away.
The Spritz was large and delicious. It was served with free popcorn. And even the few drops of rain didn’t stop me from enjoying it at that moment.
Incidentally, from this terrace I not only had a great view of the Pedrera and the Sagrada Família, but also of the next rooftop bar, which we’ll discuss next ;).

ALAIRE TERRACE BAR IN THE HOTEL CONDES
The 83.3 Terrace Bar is located in the Hotel Royal. But it’s more of a rooftop conservatory than an open-air bar. It might not be what you’d imagine. But you do have a 270-degree panoramic view of BCN: the Sagrada Família, the Torre Glories, Montjuic, the MNAC…
Unfortunately, the view of the Sagrada Família is in the smoking area, and you have to book in advance. So you can’t just pop in spontaneously, as space is also very limited. So planning is everything here!
Another small minus point: unfortunately, we found the Caipirinha a little too soft ;), better go for wine or beer! The nachos were delicious, though!
But the view is unbeatable!
Address: Pg. de Gràcia, 84, L’Eixample, 08008 Barcelona
Opening hours: Monday to Thursday, 5.00 p.m. – midnight, Friday to Sunday, 12.00 a.m. – midnight
Google rating: 4.4 (606 reviews)
Booking required
Tip: If you’re not a smoker but still don’t mind the smoke, the smoking area offers the best view of the Sagrada Família towers.
Prices:
Cocktails from EUR 14.95
Aperol Spritz EUR 14.95
Glass of white wine from EUR 5.50
270 DEGREE VIEW OF THE CITY
83.3 TERRACE BAR IN THE HOTEL ROYAL
The Terraza Miramar is located on the Montjuic mountain. The best way to reach it is by cable car from Barceloneta, as you get off right next to the terrace on the mountain and can then enjoy even more views – if the cable car ride wasn’t enough.
The drinks prices are cheaper than in the rooftop bars, but sometimes a little higher than in a bar in the city centre without a view.
And the view here is spectacular again! You can see almost everything in the city from the Tibidabo to the sea – everything that is at least higher, such as the Sagrada Família, the cathedral, the Torre Glories, the Columbus statue, the cable car of course…
Address: Plaza de la Armada, Carretera de Montjuïc, s/n, 08038 Barcelona
Opening hours: daily, 12.00 a.m. – 6.30 p.m.
Google rating: 3.7 (479 reviews) – but that’s enough for a drink and a snack!
Booking is not essential, but it can’t hurt in summer
Tip: Take the gondola from Barceloneta, then you’ll also have this view!
Prices:
Cocktails from EUR 10
Aperol Spritz EUR 10
Glass of white wine from EUR 5
Beer from EUR 5

BUT NO ROOFTOP BAR
